Channy Russell

Channy is an accomplished family law litigator based in Ventura, with extensive experience practicing in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and Lompoc. She earned her law degree cum laude from Boston University School of Law, where she was the recipient of a prestigious Fullbright fellowship and participated in a dual degree program in at the Boston University Graduate School of Global Studies in International Relations focusing on Conflict Resolution, after graduating from Washington & Lee University in Virginia. Channy has been practicing family law in California since 2020, during which time she has successfully represented hundreds of clients in complex family law matters, consistently achieving favorable outcomes in cases involving issues including the division of multifaceted marital estates with businesses, mixed assets, and complex separate property claims, as well as contested cases involving claims of financial exploitation, breach of fiduciary duties, domestic violence, child abuse, parental alienation, jurisdictional disputes, prenuptial agreements, Marvin claims for unwed cohabitating partners, and other issues. Channy is a fierce and deeply committed advocate for her clients. She excels at turning the tide in seemingly hopeless situations, meticulously untangling complicated financial webs, and powerfully defending individuals who have been wrongly accused of domestic violence, a skill enhanced by her previous experience as a criminal defense attorney. Channy speaks Spanish and is a respected member of the California Bar Association, California Women Lawyers, the Santa Barbara Bar Association, and Santa Barbara Women’s Lawyers Association. She currently resides in Santa Barbara with her young daughter, who is the light of her life.
